BOLDNESS , lets not be reluctant to use it, sexually assaulted and abused children are counting on us to protect them. I suppose because its not a pleasant subject, and we find it difficult to make a public stand, but statistics states that only 1 out of 10 victimized children will ever tell. As an advocate, I believe that more children do tell, but many adults have been unwilling to be BOLD for them, and this is how these serious crimes can go unreported.
Advocates for Children to Stop Sexual Assault and Abuse in Georgia: keep motivated, understanding that we must stand-up for what is right, even when others might feel it is not politically correct... At times you may think you are all alone, because so many don't want to hear about it, but remember your actions may protect the lives of thousands of children... How we (you) respond will last a child a lifetime...
April National Awareness for Child Abuse Prevention Month. (Blue Ribbons & Pinwheels)
