In the Eyes of a Child How can so many people allow this to happen to me? Who are the responsible adults in the community? Is there anyone, just one that even cares about me, a suffering child of (emotional, physical, and sexual) abuse? Am I the burden, am I the mistake? Sometimes I don't feel as though I can take anymore. Where are you? Must I have to bleed, or die? We live in a Nation where deceitful predators have all the rights, and are provided with experts. Why do you suppose some child sex offenders serve little or no time? The words are lack of forensic evidence. Can you tell me what kind of services are provided to sexually violated children? Are they specialized? Do they have expertise in child interviewing, and in pediatric sexual assault examining? Don't we deserve protective rights? America has refused to give me a voice, but am I not a citizen too? Am I so invisible that you cannot see, or feel my pain? Why won't you help? Child abuse has been around all my life and yet you do nothing. Why? In a perfect world only parents that knew how to love, teach by example, and had compassion, would be allowed to be parents, but this is not a perfect world. Nor were we promised life without suffering. It is the adults that are responsible for this, because of your passive attitudes. Your mouths are spoken words of emptiness, and your lack of action has spoken volumes. I shall spare you the tragic details of my own life, remembering is not the problem, but trying to forget, and always wondering how you allowed them to get away with it. Many are willing to talk the talk, but only a handful have been willing to walk the walk. I'll ask you again, "Is there just one willing to stand up and make a difference?"
